The Wait is almost over! And if you can’t wait any longer, have no fear….The Promo is out! Anddddd I am in it! Anddd of course, I had to show you a picture from set to get you really pumped! Yup, I was loving playing dead for one of the scenes!
I cannot wait to see how it turns out slash am a bit scared! My heart is gonna be beating out of my chest every time I see myself on screen. It is a really weird feeling and I have no idea how things were cut together and what is gonna look like! Ahhhh. But very excited too!
I also just did an interview with CSI Miami’s fan page on my experience! It will be up soon so I will update you on how you can view it!! I probably sound like a babbling baby, because I am! I had such an amazing experience filming and kept saying exactly that over and over again and talking about how everyone was so warm and nice and I love everyone. True Starter Actress style!

Yes! The Starter Actress has booked and shot her first big TV role! Get it! I imagine high fives from all you lovely readers. Of course, I cannot go into tooo much detail until the episode airs but it was an amazing experience and everyone was super nice and warm and welcoming. I am so happy I got to work with such wonderful, down to earth people for my first gig! FABtastic!
Obviously when we were done shooting, I brought everyone my famous pink popcorn as thank you’s. They probably though I was insane, but they had spent all week with me., god knows they knew what they were dealing with! I had 4 shooting days, two on location in Long Beach and two on set at their lot. It was awesome to get both experiences.
The sets they built were out of control!!! I know, I know this is the big time now, but it always amazes me how they just build full on apartments for like 1 minute in an episode. I was like ummmm what are you doing with that couch after we wrap? Mama’s needs a new sofa!
I promise, I promise I will go into more detail once the episodes airs. But, I hope the picture entices you to watch! The Episode “Law and Disorder” will air March 25th at 10pm on CBS. And yes, David Caruso and I are best pals now!
Yours Truly,
The Starter Rising Actress
What do you think? Send me new names please! If it’s amazing I might just go ahead and change things up!
I am currently in a web series that is on bitterlawyer.com and today they did a feature on me! Wahoo. The character I play is Paige Brenner and she works in document review at a law firm. A lowly position in the field of law. Almost like prison! However, she has ambitions of being a singer! Sound familiar? She is cool and comfortable in her skin with a crazy past of failed relationships with drummers. She gets her life in order and thus goes to law school and ends up in document review.
Check out the feature on me and the clip of my “bio” scene. Super funny!

Yesterday, I shot my first commercial of 2012! Wahoo. What a great start. Of course, I cannot tell you what it was for butttt they needed a pale person and I was their gal! I am sniffing a lovely flower in the shot and that is basically all I can say. Ohhh, I also was barefoot for the shoot and before stepping on the sound stage I had to step on this sticky white paper to make sure my feet were clean. Whooww Nelly were they anything buttttt clean. I had to keep on moving my feet around until all the dirt was gone, probably 12 footprints. Whoops. You can take the farm girl out of the farm but you can’t take the farm out of the girl.
The commercial is going to be beautiful and cant wait for everyone to see it!

Yup, mama said it! The web series that I produced and stared in that airs on Bitter Lawyer got picked up for a full season! Wahoo! The site had four episodes made and then had the option to pick up more based on how popular the episodes were and if they liked the content. Luckily, the series did very well and they want more more more. And also more of meeeee! I appear in one out of the four episodes and Bitter Lawyer wants to make sure I have more screen time in the series. How flattering!
The work begins again, on the production side of the series, in mid January. So sooon. Must get all my ducks in a row before we shoot at the end of January. This means, meeting with the director, finalizing scripts, location scouting, scheduling the actors and getting everything from make-up to food for the shoot. Its a big job but someones gotta be the type A, crazy scheduler, detail obsessor. Not me of course! It is also a lot of fun making this web series and being in it! Cannot wait to see the scripts and know what I am going to be working with!
Make sure to check out the web series on Bitter Lawyer!
This week, the web series I produced and acted in with Matt Ritter for bitterlawyer was released! We have gotten great press and a wonderful response! I am beyond excited about the project and am so happy people are enjoying the show!
Yes, Crying…..for some reason I was slammed with auditions all last week and almost every one was very emotional. The scripts called for me to cry and I was a tears-magee the whole week. Aren’t I supposed to be a comedic actress? We just frown and that does the job! Nooo, It was actually great because I need to work on my emotional accessibility in the room. OMG such an “actress saying”. Buttt, I was finding that I would have all this emotion and then when I got into the room I couldn’t cry. Until….
Yesterday, I cried in an audition I was a slobbering mess after and had to do two more scenes hahaha OMG so embarrassing… Snot running down my face…no tissues..snot in the hands..snot in the eye lashes…grose…Thats my life! Lesson learned? Always have a tissue on hand in those situations. Sleeves don’t work as well!

This week I met with a casting director for a general sit down! He was so nice and helpful and at the end of our time I asked him: What are three things you look for when an actor walks in the room and what are three things that bother you about the auditioning process.
What he looks for:
1) Be Nice— thats it! I can’t imagine that people would walk into a room and not be nice but it happens.
2) Know your stuff— Be professional and understand the character and how you fit into the story
3) Don’t embarrass me—CD’s put their word on the line for actors when it comes to producer sessions so Rock It!
What bothers him:
1) Perfume—toooo much, tooo much, too much. Do not over due it!
2) Be respectful of other people in the office
3) Get out of the bathroom
Some food for thought.

Get it? Glee and Kingdom together makes Gleedom? If you don’t know by now, you are living under a rock, I love Glee and need to be on that show! It’s pretty much me in high school. I would like to think I am a mix between Rachel and Quinn but I think I am just to type A to be anything but Rachel.
On Friday, I auditioned for The Glee Project Season 2! Wahoo. So fun. I got the call the day before and was given 4 choices of songs to sing the next day. I choose Carrie Underwood’s “Before He Cheats.” Such a great one and really the only choice that was right for my vocal range. Unfortunately, I was feeling sickypooo. Starter freak out! I probably drank 10 vitamin C emergency packs. Needless to say, my body was in Vitamin shock.
I had been to the casting office before when I went in for a role on Glee this past summer. I don’t even want to talk about that! OK lets talk about it! I rocked that opportunity and was set to go in for producers when the role was written out of the script. Ugh. Welcome to the world of acting! Like last time, I could hear everyone else’s audition through the wall, which is always intimidating, but I was also sooo ready to go in there and blow them away.
The audition went really well and at the end they asked some questions to get to know me a little better. I mean, the show is reality so they are gonna be watching a whole lot of yours truly! Come on, I’m such a good character!
Keep your fingers, toes, legs and eyes crossed!

I know you all religiously watch TMZ and can’t wait to hear the hard investigative journalism stories that come out of that show. Unfortunately, it will notttt be from me! Although sometimes I think I would have fun hangin out with Harry and that blonde dude. I did however, get to play a TMZ reporter in a scene for an upcoming film! Yessssss the gossip queen finally got a great outlet!
The project is a spoof film and my scene is just over the top ridiculous, which is perfect for my high energy self! I made my way down to the valley for an 8pm call time! The production was shooting a 5pm to 5am day. Welcome to the movies. Lunch served at 11pm if your wondering.
After I arrived, it was off to hair and make-up and wardrobe. Next thing I knew, I was on set and doing the scene. Everyone was super nice and chill but it was definitely a weird experience to come into a group of around 50 ppl I didn’t know and suddenly action was called. I met the director on set two seconds before shooting! Unreal. Totally thrown into the mix and the cameras started to role. It was a short scene and the time flew by!
The spoof genre is so my style and it was a perfect fit for my first role in a major film. It was just so hysterical and crazy that it couldn’t have been anything but tons of fun! Wahooooo
